Twin Star Series
Book 1-Commencement Book 2-Internment Book 3-Deliverance
"Miss Elizabeth Garner has not turned, and according to Doctor Rehman, she is not showing any signs of turning. He believes that her body is fighting the virus and that there is a small possibility that she will live. I know what you would say, but I cannot take—in good conscience—the life of someone who may survive such an ordeal. I will, however, guarantee that if she turns, she will be dead before she can take one step from that room."
Elizabeth Garner survives a savage vampire attack that wipes out her entire family, including her twin Michael, thanks to the intervention of The Guard, an elite military group trained specifically to defeat the vampire menace. Captain Anthony Ryan finds her battered, near-dead body amongst the carnage and decides to take her to the fort to enlist Doc Rehman’s aid in stabilizing her until they can determine what exactly happened during the attack.
They soon discover that Elizabeth is fighting the virus, rather than succumbing to it and decide to ignore the law in hopes of saving her. She wakes several days later to find that she has gained vampiric attributes but not the thirst for blood or affinity to sunlight. She learns of the fate of her family and must accept her new-found abilities. There are many who fear what she has become and what this new development means for the future of humans. With the aid of Captain Anthony Ryan and Doc Rehman, they fight for her very existence and the hope that Elizabeth’s survival may provide the world with a cure and a defense against the vampires.
Emilian Marin’s sole purpose is to lead and protect his coven. When he is awakened from a dead sleep by the intoxicating scent of a human, he attempts to walk into full sun, without thought, to find and consume it. His severe allergy to the sun causing the flesh of his hand to blister and wither brings him back to reality, and he retreats to the safety and darkness of their cave. Believing the human to be a threat to him and the safety of the coven, the group sets out to destroy this creature as the sun sinks behind the trees.
As they near their prey, they realize that they have stumbled into The Guard’s territory. To protect the group, Marin sends most them away to hunt elsewhere, while he and a small group continue to hunt Marin’s obsession. The attack is ruthless, and the vampires are not without casualties but as Marin’s fangs tear into the woman’s throat, he is consumed with only the thoughts of savoring his kill and deep sorrow in the knowledge that he will never find another so tantalizing.
The Guard interrupts his bliss, and he is dragged reluctantly away from his prey. He soon discovers that the soldiers didn’t kill the woman and she somehow survived the virus that should have turned her. With thoughts of destroying the cause of his growing obsession and threat, he prepares for battle, hell-bent on ripping her apart and sinking his teeth into her again.
With so many out for Elizabeth’s destruction, will she be able to survive? Could she be the key to the cure for the Vampiric Virus?
